Jocelyn and Caleb Paine always dreamed of having a big family. They also felt an affinity to give back to those in need. The couple learned of Children’s Home Society of Washington (CHSW) through a friend who recommended the organization as an opportunity to explore foster care for children in need. CHSW helped them become licensed foster parents, and from there, they were introduced to their daughter Cora. Shortly after Cora came to live with the Paines, her sister Isabella joined their home as well. CHSW helped them navigate the joys and challenges of becoming a family through the therapeutic foster care and mental health programs at CHSW’s Wenatchee location, and today, celebrate being the adoptive parents to Cora and Isabella. While their hearts felt full, the couple knew they had more love to give.
During the finalization of their adoption process for the girls, Jocelyn and Caleb were introduced to a baby boy in need of a home. He quickly stole their hearts, and he will officially become a member of their family in 2021. While they believed their family was complete with their two girls and their young son, fate gave them something they thought was impossible – a biological son. Kaison was born in the summer of 2020.
“Children’s Home Society of Washington has made it possible for us to not only have a wonderful family, but also allows us to continue helping other children in need,” said Jocelyn. “Without CHSW, we wouldn’t have been able to bring such mutual joy to our children’s lives, and our own.”
The Paine family consists of four happy and healthy children, yet Jocelyn and Caleb continue to want to help others. They have been a support system for other foster parents and continue to help with respite care for children in need of a stable home.
